RE: Turbo actuator position sensor I also have noticed that sometimes the water temperatures go up when loaded and keep rising until 208 F then the fan would kick in and get the temperature down around 195 then slowly rise back up. So I'm suspecting a sticking thermostat and seens it was cold temperatures here in Canada from the day I got it until now that it's getting hot outside maybe it was sticking from day 1 but wouldn't show because the radiator side was getting the water cold inside it because of the outside temperature being very cold but wouldn't circulate it because the thermostat was bad or something . Keeping the CAC a little hotter then it should be. I have no clue if it makes sense because I don't know the configuration of the system and where the sensors are located but the fact that my oil seems like it gets hot enough to lower the pressure in the engine and doesn't come back up to normal pressure very easily Is what makes me think it could be that. I'm gonna change the thermostat today if I have time . User's Signature: 2011 Prostar daycab cm871 485

RE: Turbo actuator position sensor Your fan will kick on at 210° coolant temp and that is perfectly normal. It will do this when idling, pulling a hill and anytime there isn't enough air flowing over the engine to cool itself. This is the way they are designed to work. If ever see it continue to climb past 210 and the fan doesn't kick on or the fan kicks on and still climbs past 210 (unless working the hell out of a heavy load on a steep hill, this may cause it to go slightly past 210 but the fan should bring the temp down) then you have a problem. Till then absolutely nothing to worry about.

RE: Turbo actuator position sensor Just looking back at what you originally posted, I'm curious what your truck setup is. Day cab with or without air dam on the roof. Pulling a flatbed or van trailer. What size tires are you running and what brand? How often are you loaded heavy 50% or 100% of the miles driven? Also with Insite, you can check what the CPL # is in the ECM. See if its the same as the one on the side of the valve cover. Also check your calibration number. Post what they are here. Maybe you need an update or you may have the wrong calibration.
