Scissor gear So I believe I accidentally unloaded my scissor gear. Not sure how i did it, I was following the steps on quickserve for removing and installing the gears. I can't find any info on the proper way to the load the gear. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Scissor gear It's got bolts with springs built into a hub like design. Two of these bolts directly across from each other backed all the way out will unload. Set gear train and tighten scissor bolts back up.

RE: Scissor gear Your not loading the springs your loading the teeth of the gears that when looked at straight on they scissor slightly. This loads up the gear train. I know it seems difficult but that's all there is to it. I think it's stupid. Some of em have no scissor gears and are all traditional gear train.

How about making a video, put it on YouTube and post a link here so we can see what your talking about. You need to be 100% sure you get this right or serious damage will result.

RE: Scissor gear I believe what I did wrong was I only loosened the 2 bolts instead of backing them out all the way. This allowed the two gears to be able to turn freely once removed. My theory is if I back out 2 bolts across from each other it would compress the springs again. I could install the gear and tighten the bolts allowing the springs to engage. This is just a theory! I would appreciate any advice.

RE: Scissor gear To upload you back two bolts completely out all the way until after they are against the gear itself. The bolts must be straight across from each other. Make your repairs. Reassemble. Tighten bolts all the way tight again.
