2350 Jake Solenoid Replaced 2 injectors today and decided to fire it up before putting the rocker cover on to check for oil leaks. Ever since the truck was overhauled my oil pressure has been off bout 3-5psi from what I’m used to. Noticed while truck was running the front Jake solenoid is leaking pretty good. The rear maybe half as bad. I’m assuming they shouldn’t be leaking correct? Truck has been having intermittent Jake issues lately as well. They kinda stutter from time to time and or don’t fully engage. Would this be enough for the 3-5 psi difference.

RE: 2350 Jake Solenoid could be... this somewhat related info may also help... http://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?t...783#pid783 3-5 psi is significant... == Was all OEM parts used ?. or aftermarket?. == did someone verify ALL part#'s for each bearing as they came out of the bottom end?... cummins is known for using a single random alt. size bearings on the bottom end on occasion.,. then someone assuming all are the same, and are standard part#'s .. and then putting engine back together only to find out there is lees oil pressures.. and eventually ending up with a spun bearing or destroyed crank later on. more related info: http://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?t...0#pid81250 User's Signature: ->: What I post is just my own thoughts and Opinions! --- I AM Full Of S__T!.

RE: 2350 Jake Solenoid (02-23-2025 )Rawze Wrote: could be... The bottom end is all Cummins. I asked them if they verified the bearings they said yes they did I’m getting 20 psi at idle (725) and 35-36 going down the road at 1500. I noticed when I originally got it back it would sometimes fluctuate back to normal and run 38-40 where I’m used to seeing it pre overhaul. Are the orings causing the leak the ones on the bottom of the solenoid inside the manifold? Per quickserve it says to replace solenoid if orings are damaged. Are the orings unserviceable?

Not crazy off but feels off to me driving it everyday. That’s why I was curious if those Jakes leaking would be enough to make that difference. I’m going to re oring them this weekend and see if I can get away without replacing the solenoid
