Bendix slack adjuster

When backing off a Bendix automatic slack adjuster, is it supposed to give resistance and make a clicking noise?

Do I have to release the brakes when pushing back an automatic Bendix slack adjuster (push in the parking knobs)?

Yes, resistance and clicking is normal, but manual adjustment should not be a regular occurrence outside of parts replacement on that particular wheel end. Get your air pressure at or above 90psi (be sure the truck is chocked properly) and release the park brake (push in the parking knobs, yes).

The Bendix auto slack adjuster is not backing off. It tightened but now it will not back off. It seems to be seized.

Okay, that problem was solved. Right now I adjusted the slack adjusters and will see how that goes.
