RE: vibration damper thoughts
I'd get the fan, clutch and shroud out of the way. If I remember Rawze had to remove his front end and put a 3 ton hydraulic puller in his before it'd budge.

The fan and the shroud is gone well the top half of the shroud I left the bottom in but I got the plate and the pulley off now the end of that cam shaft is just so rusted and it looks like they just painted it while it was on so the paint was all glued together but now I am onto the vibration Damper I sure hope I don’t have to tear down the truck anymore I have a lot of room here and I covered the inside of the radiator with my privacy curtains that I didn’t use anymore to protect it from me

because that is what the manufacturer says (by 500k miles), and that is usually when they start to dry up as well based on experiences.

put a glas of water on top of the engine and run it. -- record it with video on your phone.

replace the damper, then do the same. - You will see what the differences are.

Of course, it is not water your trying to keep quieted down,.. its the entire electrical system, the electronics, and all the other components that are sensitive to excess vibration.

Excess vibration is the killer of many things on a truck. Its best to keep after minimizing it, as it only costs you a lot more not to.

Do you think this could be why my Jake's don't vibrate at high rpm above 1500 but when rpm reaches around 1400 and below it feels like my motor is gonna come apart. Cummins rebuilt the jakes and new wiring harness for jakes and injectors. Compression test and vgt inspected ipt test all passed. Can't figure it out.

RE: vibration damper thoughts
Does anyone think this could be why i'm getting vibration from my jakes? Over 1500 rpm not much if any vibration but 1400 rpm and below feels like the motors going to come apart. Cummins rebuilt the jakes replaced wiring harness compression test ipt test over head adjustment checked turbo and vgt everything looks good checked with computer on test drive check all settings, even settings on the transmission even hooked up to trans on test drive with computer. Its like the jakes get weak and massive vibration. Help

RE: vibration damper thoughts
Does it change the vibration when switching through the different stages at a given RPM? Also, what kind of mileage are we talking on this setup? Did they mention the detent condition on the Jake rockers or the lobe condition the Jake rides on?

Would you happen to have a boost gauge to see what the psi is coming up to when the Jake is used? Should also change as you're moving across the 3 stages.

Most important question...is this a stock or dE-leted truck and has the program been reviewed if so?
