How to get started on clean running engine I just did inframe on my 2010 kenworth 871 isx with 305,000. After buying it used from a big dealership.I need to get this engine running as good as I can get it. My mind is going everywhere because before this truck I was running a 93 detroit engine and this dpf stuff is all new and way to expensive . I want to get my truck tune , put spinner oil filter, and learn how to do insite but need help on how to get started doing what i need to get truck running clean. Any help would be great.

RE: How to get started on clean running engine (10-12-2017 )DonnyDumpTruck Wrote: ... Spinner does not work well with isx. Too low of oil pressure to drive it fast enough for it to work well. Better off with a bypass filter like a el-cheapo amsoil or other cheaper one. DO NOT do extended oil drain intervals. Base you oil drain interval off your fuel mileage. ==== If the OEM stealersh$it did the inframe, I feel sorry for you. Its like throwing dice at the casino, you may get lucky, might not. - Half them do not get them right at all, and have half-wit under-trained morons for mechanics. RE: How to get started on clean running engine My truck is a T800 . I put a 15ft dump bed on it. The engine started showing problems as soon as i drove it home. Been to dealershits spent lots of money turbo , dpf,egr cooler they got me good. Ended up being drop liner. I couldnt trust the dearlships around here . So i took it to a independent repair shop . Bought all new parts on the engine pretty much everything new but injectors. Had cummings do the couter bore and they told me they set it at 13. I really hopeing this shop got it right. I run 3,000 miles no problems yet.

RE: How to get started on clean running engine Best thing to do if you want to maximize the benefits. Rawze is amazing and has made a incredible bunch of technical documents and videos. Check out the fueling and metering actuator thread in technical documents. Check his video on testing injectors. See his video on doing a overhead. Then get with unilevers, gearhead or Mr. Hagg on this forum to help fine tune it for you. If you don't want to turn a wrench yourself, those same guys also have shops. At that point, a bypass filter isn't really needed. I haul 140,000lbs and idle 4 hours a day And still, this is what my oil looks like after 9000 miles User's Signature: I'm no mechanic, I'm just a guy that breaks down enough to know a bit.
