Check the wiring to the intake manifold combo sensor. Might not apply to your long bonnet truck but I've seen a few 4800 that had the engine fitted in the Western Star factory in Australia where the wiring was touching the cab and when you'd hit a bumb in the road they would loose connection but it happened to quickly for the ecm to register any faults.
