RE: ISX CM2350 Oil Usage and Fuel Economy - Suggestions? Where is the oil going? And that mileage sucks. Could be carbon packed. Have you popped the lid on the motor to inspect the cam? Is the mandate still intact?

RE: ISX CM2350 Oil Usage and Fuel Economy - Suggestions? Have you taken the DPF filter off and inspected it? I would do that too. Along with an EGR tuneup.

RE: ISX CM2350 Oil Usage and Fuel Economy - Suggestions? On the 2250 you cant see the cam and I think 2350 is the same. I would definitely be checking regen history ....sounds soot clogged ....and EGR tune up is probably needed, bake the DPF etc.

RE: ISX CM2350 Oil Usage and Fuel Economy - Suggestions? Pull the compressor outlet pipe off the turbo, too check for oil leaking. You can also pull the lines off the air compressor they've been known too leak oil as well. It's a 14 motor so it should have the updated pistons too stop carbon packing, so hopefully that's not your problem cause the only way too fix that is a rebuild. Your oil usage seems extreme but maybe this could be part of the problem... if the truck was using a lighter an or different oil, changing too shall has changed it wear pattern an will take a couple oil changes too settle in

RE: ISX CM2350 Oil Usage and Fuel Economy - Suggestions? Isn't this in the model range of the faulty valve guide seals? You could take the exhaust pipe off and do a snsp test as well to see how much smoke it puts out. Also take the oil fill cap off with the engine running snd see how much blow by there is. Should just be a light puff. If it looks like a old steam loco then your rings are shot.

It is the same head I have. Check the cam lobes, if it is carbon'd up the cam shaft is usually chewed up. Sounds like the guy has a high idle motor, face plugged and a real mess internally.
