09 ISX blowing timing actuator apart Ok so I have a friend that is running a 09 ISX in his KW. It has some aftermarket parts:turbo, intake, etc. It also has had some programming done. So to problem at hand. He had the head replaced with a remand head a while back. About 250 miles after the head replacement he blew a timing actuator. This is the first time this happened, and then proceeded to blow them every 150-250 miles until he replaced the injectors with some remans and now he has blown one twice since the injectors were installed. The last two times he has gotten around 2500 miles before the actuator blows. Prior to the head being replaced he ran it 300k with no issues. He has bubble tested it hot and cold and no bubbles either time. He has also replaced the IFSM. Nobody seems to know what is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: 09 ISX blowing timing actuator apart at 340 psi fuel pressure and above they will blow off at random. anyone check the pressure?

RE: 09 ISX blowing timing actuator apart Could be a cracked head putting compression in the fuel drilling to that actuator.

RE: 09 ISX blowing timing actuator apart I saw a post about this on Facebook. If it's the guy that runs that PukeDits tune with the HP set at 800 then he needs to have someone on here to retune the ECM properly. There is a lot of people that suffered because of the shitty programming PukeDits does. Check out the Custom tuning nightmare section on this site and you will see.

Hmm he said that he hasn’t posted anything about it on FB. Might have been one of the mechanics he has had work on it. So the programming could still be his issue even though he had 300k on it with no issues before he replaced the original head?

Running a PukeDits tune it's like having a ticking bomb under your hood. You really need to have one of the recommended people on here to inspect his engine calibration ASAP.

RE: 09 ISX blowing timing actuator apart Thanks for the input. How would he go about doing that? He is located in Oklahoma.
