Kingpin settings Have difficulties to understand clearly how to change kingpins. Manual says to torque 200 ft-pound and check is knuckle turns freely then torque to 600 ft-pound. I understand that 600 need to drive king pin all the way inside the tapper hole in axle but bearing is locked with such high clamping force. What is missed in manual or something I just got wrong. STEMCO M536M.

RE: Kingpin settings Maybe its torque to 600 to seat everything and then back it off and torque to 200 and leave it ??

RE: Kingpin settings Is that Stemco number right? The only number I can find close is a K536M quick kit? It goes to a Mack.

RE: Kingpin settings According to the manual, the final torque is 600 ft-lbs. -- You first torque it to 200 ft-lbs, then rotate it around a bit (with the jack out of the way) to ensure everything centers itself up before making the final torque adjustment. http://www.stemco.com/f/qbin/01-577-1005...-sheet.pdf User's Signature: ->: What I post is just my own thoughts and Opinions! --- I AM Full Of S__T!.
