No, nothing personal, it was the price of the load that was offensive, not that you did it. Trust me, I have been doing the same, like I said, this industry is a mess.

RE: What would you have done differently?? I wasnt complaining about fuel mileage though, being heavy/ wide/ tall all the time is what i do. 4.10 dont help with mileage thats all i was pointing out. I wish i had two speed rears instead of full lockers but there are advantages to both. 3.xx and a 5.xx rear would be nice, instead i split the difference and went with full lockers. You cant have both unfortunately. Yes being 200,000 and driving in the mountains will get you 1.x fuel mileage. Ive seen even lower with 450,000 and being the push truck.

RE: What would you have done differently?? None of the shorter loads out of that place pay well but they are easy. Running permitted loads around the holidays is impossible so you take what you can get and they know it. I know our company fucks us a bit on the line haul percentage but its still good money and there is zero bullshit.

I haven't done dolly work before so its something I'm not fully knowledgeable in. If anyone sees any problems or better ways to secure that load maybe they'll speak up. You never posted where or what you may be struggling with on that load. We're genuinely here to help. By all means, if you're having an issue with something please speak up.

Maybe I missed a bunch of pictures ,but I actually never seen any of how you secured or what you did . Post some a little closer and load weights . User's Signature: The missing link

RE: What would you have done differently?? (01-07-2020 )hkerekes Wrote: I wasnt complaining about fuel mileage though, being heavy/ wide/ tall all the time is what i do.This is complete horse $h!t! The only possible way is because something is wrong! But what the **** do I know? I brought this from Corona, Ca to Calgary, Ab. It was over 16'H x 16'6"W x 122'L @ 188,500 GVW. Because of the dims, I was routed off of I-15 at Hesperia, Ca and ran 2 lane roads the entire way to the Canadian border! The only interstates I saw were the ones I went under or over the whole way...up to Bishop, across to Ely, up to Arco, Salmon, over the pass to Missoula, back roads, including gravel to the border! It was a brutal trip! Either pulling or jaking over 90% of the route! I did 2.8mpg MANDATED, and it wasn't working properly! If you're gonna try BS'ing someone, don't try blow smoke up someone's ass who knows a thing or two! This was only 122,000lbs, 15'W x 16'2"H x 100'L @ 185,000GVW. I brought this from Green Valley, Az to Edmonton, Ab. I got 3.1 on this one, up through Vegas, north via Ely, Twin Falls, Arco, up to I-15 all the way north...there's no mountains that way is there? Oh wait! Vegas to Ely exceeds 8000' :smh (01-07-2020 )hkerekes Wrote: Ive seen even lower with 450,000 and being the push truck. Then you're trying to do too much! A 450,000lbs unit with 2 trucks is 225,000 each truck, same work load as an atypical 10axles unit...I dunno, I've only ever pushed a 19axle and wasn't under 2 at any time...but I only pushed it 800 miles, so maybe I've got something to learn? Gear the truck properly to make it run in the proper rpm/power band, and drive it accordingly & you should NEVER be 1.xx with almost anything...unless you're doing something really difficult, or idling for days while your waiting for permits/travel/escorts/restrictions. News flash, weight isn't what I'm talking about! But like I said, WTF do I know? User's Signature: Why? Why do I always ask "why?" Because I can't learn or help teach others with "'cause I said so..."
