Isx 870 with 1.2 million miles 05 international

Seems like a lot more 870's make it to a million and past than 871's or 2250/2350. Could it really be just because the air operated turbo is slower to respond than the electronic actuator?

longer curve between no torque and full torque and dont start out life with DPFs i would say 2 of the biggest contributers

the bottom end lag is most of it... everyone wants that instant response out of their newer diesel engine,.. but it all comes at a cost.

set a 2350 to be as dull-responsed as an 870, and it will last just as long.

This is what I thought was the oil pan leaking but it doesn't seem to be. I can't figure out where it comes from but it leaks fairly quick with about a drop every 10 seconds. I thought it was the oil pan but it seems to come from above it. The oil cooler leaks from the gasket but I can see it and it's not nearly as fast as this one. Is it possible the water pump leaks somehow? I'm way lost on this one.

You said you put a clutch in that truck right? Did you re seal the rear structure while it was apart? If not that's probably what's leaking.
Or is that at the front of the engine? Could be front structure then.

Yes we put a clutch but this is on the front right corner. Oil pan and water pump oil cooler area
