I have a 2012 isx cm2250 motor with a cm 2350 ECM my question is what needs to be changed so that it communicate together esn 79597170 cpl 3719 and the ECM cpl is 3937 and it’s a 2014 It’s in a Kenworth t680 2015. The original engine was a paccar don’t have a clue on that ser# as the Cummins was in it when I purchased it. And I believe that the ECM came from a different engine as well sorry I’m not much help here.and yes the 79597170 is what’s in the truck now

AND THEN REGISTERED AS A "GLIDER", AS IT IS A 2015 TRUCK with a non-compliant (2010 emissions standards) engine in it!.. .. so this tells me clearly that it is already a "deleted" truck and engine. NEXT:;;.... A CM2250 ECM NEEDS TO BE PUT BACK ON THAT ENGINE!!!.. PERIOD!. The program needed should match the engine ser# as well. (program CL10138 in your case). This is the proper thing to do and what needs to be done to run it correctly. -== And since it most likely needs "deleted" after, then that is easily cured by simply copying out and e-mailing the factory clean program so that it can be "de-mandated" properly instead of having some rip-off delete tuning idiot making things worse for several thousands of $$$. WHO MADE THIS MESS BY THE WAY?/... I sure hope like h#ell that it was not a "certified" oem repair shop.. because what they did WAS ESSENTIALLY ILLEGAL (unless they put all the 2010 emissions systems on it too and registered it as a glider). it was not the best idea to use an outdated emissions engine in a 2015 truck to begin with... THEN to make it worse yet ... TO USE THE WRONG ECM!!>??q!.. What a mess! User's Signature: ->: What I post is just my own thoughts and Opinions! --- I AM Full Of S__T!.

RE: CUMMINS SWAP 2250 to 2350. Most of the time the multi plex will be off as far as where its getting its info. Make sure you have all that correct

I don't know if there are an oem shop. Now how do i check to see if its been registered as a glider?

RE: CUMMINS SWAP 2250 to 2350. Hi guys, Got a truck with 2350 engine instead of 2250. Ecm, wires, intake manifold from 2250. I'ts 'tuned' and after checking seems to be a bad one with a lot of blocked faults and working not in chi4 mode. Injector codes seems not to be changed. Stock cal have to be cl10132, right now have cl10138. I will email uploaded cal file to Rawze and hope maybe he will have time to take a look.

RE: CUMMINS SWAP 2250 to 2350. (07-04-2024 )Scaner2 Wrote: Hi guys, A truck that was made for a CM2250 engine, and someone installing a CM2350 into it ... I should at least mention that it is officially against EPA regulations (without also swapping all the 2350 emissions hardware to go with the newer model engine) .. otherwise, here is the info... - An ISX cm2250 to 2350 swap, otherwise, consists of simply re-using the CM2250 wiring and ECM on the newer block. I think there is a fuel rail pressure sensor that does not plug in, and for this sensor, the older sensor needs to be installed instead. Other than that, everything else typically plugs right in. The CM2350 turbo that was meant for that ser# engine should also be used,.. and not the older CM2250 turbo. - There is however NO factory program (or otherwise) from the red engine maker that will run the CM2350 engine hardware properly. A CM2250 program in the ecm will make it fire up and run.. but it will not be anywhere near correct for it, and it will result in efficiency losses, and eventual progressive engine damage (severely shortened engine life). Everything from compression ratio, fuel-air-mix, boost levels, injection timing, injector spray angles, injector trim code logic, injector coil conversion logic, fuel quantities, cold ambient, cold weather settings, etc.etc. etc. ... are all completely different for a CM2350 engine. The ecm is also not going to compensate for any of this stuff at all. The ecm is beyond dumb as a brick and has no Super-duper AI fix-it sauce inside it. it will just tear the engine up slowly over time and not care at all. basically, use the cm2250 ecm... the 2250 wiring harnesses, the 2250 emissions and all stuff will still be wired correctly. On the programming side of things, the things mentioned above need to be set, .. and if the emissions are kept, the emissions settings for the post2 injection cycle and a few other things needs tweaking a bit. -- I typically end up having to make several of these programs for people each year. Even the red engine maker and OEM network of morons and nitwits have been known to abandon people after they themselves do swaps like this, then finding out the hard way that there is no real solutions without custom programming. give me a ring to talk about it and so we can get on the same page with what has been done.
