RE: Copying ECM files
Thanks to all. I figured out that I didn’t actually have the proper metafiles. ECM has successfully been backed up and is ready to send over.

RE: Copying ECM files
email it to me for a proper review of what someone did in there.

Here is what I see in the file you sent me in a nut shell ...

== The ecm program is SEVERELY out of date. There has been many, many updates from the engine maker since this program was made, fixing many issues with the enigne and programming. The ECM will need to be updated to the latest factory file before it can be re-done.

== DEF signal going to the dash of the vehicle is turned off. There is no need to turn this signal off for a de-mandate except to annoy the driver with blinking DEF light and zero-reading gauge.

== Someone attempted to get the program into its non-egr operating mode, but they did a terrible job of it . It is incomplete (less than half of what needed to be done), and this will cause the ecm to become unstable at times, eventually leading to ghost issues and progressive engine damage.

== EGR gas in the combustion process has not been turned off. The ecm will assume all egr gas is still therer and run the engine too lean + too much injection timing, eventually eating the valve train out of it, or maybe a cracked piston, or causing a dropped liner.

== NOx and Amonia gas output clamping is all still active. The engine will fight itself to clamp its exhaust, causing harm to itself and ghost power losses in the process.

== Injection timing was adjusted THE WRONG DIRECTION and is not EXTREMELY HARMFUL... ENGINE KILLING KIND OIF HARMFUL!. Someone absolutely did not know what they were doing in there at all. this alone an engine killer for sure. Add big power/torque (600-2050) to that, and major, premature engine damage is in its near future.

== The Power/torque curve has been completely destroyed. It looks like a someone who knows absolutely nothing about these engines whatsoever made it. Here is a screen-shot of the utterly stupid, engine killing power/torque curve that some complete moron put in there!!!.

./uploads/202504/post_2_1743914242_229ba5b99e66fa13c3a38a4b2bff39d6.png

== The fuel-air-mix has not been re-adjusted for a no-egr engine at all. The engine will run too lean.

== The turbo had not been re-mapped correctly. It will cause over-spooling, damaging itself, and causing damge to the engine as well for over/under boosting and all sorts of other issues.

-----------------------------

There are a lot more issues with this porogram as well ... those were just the highlights. it is an engine killer for sure, and is about as bad as I have ever seen for a CM2350.

Bad de-mandates are an absolute plague up there in the great white north.. and this one is a fine example of it.

Welcome to the bad delete club!.

RE: Copying ECM files
I figured as much. I don’t have a DEF gauge or light anymore.
What’s the next step?Do I need to flash the latest version for it?
Where do I find a file that old? Insight?

You don't want a file that old, you want the newest file for your engine. It can be found on the cummins incal website. I sent you a PM.
