RE: Automotive cummins 2015 6.7L in a ram
I do have insite but it will not work through the OBDII port, I have to find the engine plug. We bought it brand new, 150,000 km, mixed use but around 100,000km of heavy loads like 18000 lb payload. It's doesn't get daily use. Sits alot until we need it.

Im going to try and convince the GM to let me play with the diesels, to fix them and properly maintain them instead of paying shops that don't care about our dime, just their bottom line.
Thanks for the what's what guys appreciate it.

Does anyone know where the ecm hook up on the engine is for a 6.7. That works with insite.

Ok, so I got the go ahead, current issue is my insite 7 9.0 cant connect to the ecm through the obd ii port. However I do have a old obd ii scanner and I got the current codes which is a p003A. Basically out of of parameter. Possible stuck vanes, actuator is not the problem, because when I road test the truck makes almost 30 psi boost. It is not steady like a truck engine. Seems to bounce around from 25-28 under heavy throttle.
Tail pipe is soot free 98%. I swiped it with my fingers and it has a very light off grey color, barely made my fingers dirty just shiny.
Maybe I'm wrong let me know, that's why I like rawze. Provides the matter of fact information you need to hear or what you need to do.
I need to get more involved in the repairs only outsource what I cant handle. Even then I need to know why it's going in beforehand to prevent this shop scam trend.

in order to hook up to the ECM with insite, you'll need to tap into 2 J1939 pins on the OEM Responsibility connector of the ECM... (usually the "green" connector but don't quote me on that)

I don't have the exact pins handy, but I will check and come back and post them for you. even then with that being said, insite will only pick it up as a "generic engine"... it will have very limited test capabilities, and may or may not display wrong live data, as these ECMs were never designed to be troubleshooted with insite... but rather with Chrysler's original tools...

i personally use a maxisys autel elite in order to view any faults, live data and perform some basic tests... that being said, i only hook up to these ECMS with a bench harness, and with BOTH connectors removed from the ECM, which will make it very hard for you to troubleshoot. I've had a few brick on me when leaving the Engine responsibility connector connected to the ECM and only plugging my bench harness in to the OEM responsibility side...

if you pin in the 2 J1939 wires needed for the ECM to communicate into the original OEM harness, and hook them up to your Nexiq, it in theory should work, but i personally never got some time to test it myself. perhaps you could try it and let us know!
