Cm871 RPM shut off

Asking for a friend. Issue is engine shuts off when ramp goes over 1500 rpm. Cam sensor changed, same issue occurred.

To add he said he took the belly out of the shut off solenoid and managed to reach home.

Sounds like a bad fuel shutoff solenoid right???? You didn't give us much information to go on.

Well, he said he was driving home and he heard it back fired; So he throttled it up to 1800 rpm to see if the issue would happen again it just trickled down and stalled out. It starts fine and everything but as soon as you go up in the rpm’s like 1500 it shuts down. Plugged it up no codes.

That solenoid was changed this morning. Drove up the road came back down in the yard then shut off itself

Finally got a code saying
VGT- Mechanical system not responding or out of adjustment

That code won't cause it to shut down unless its choking the engine off completely. Monitor the turbo position with insite and see if that's what is happening.

There's a very high likelihood that the ECM is going bad. Start it and while its running give it a good smack with a screwdriver handle right on top of the ECM. If it dies you need an ECM.
