| Cummins parts and cut off dates As for old motors like the n14 and so on. When does Cummins decide to stop building rebuild kits for them? You can still get a new rebuild kit for an n14 but Other parts like oil/water pumps, injectors etc you are only able to get Cummins rebuild on those. I see this is the case up from cm570 to cm871. Are cm570s to cm871 slowly approaching dinasour era? I never really checked if you can get brand new bolt on parts for cm2250 and upwards or is it the same case? In my opinion I think the lowest I would run is cm870 or 871 when it comes to parts availability. To add, last year I saw a young guy in Houston around my age running a 400 Cummins in a 359 probably early 80s manufacture said he literally just got it rebuilt pulling a step deck lol. It was pretty cool though. I will add picture if I find it in gallery. | |||

| RE: Cummins parts and cut off dates The legal requirements is 10 years for most commercial equipment. ... but only 8 for some types of equipment. After that, its all a matter of profitable demand. - Not enough demand, it gets outsourced to third parties, and then the quality goes to the dogs. | RE: Cummins parts and cut off dates Which means our beloved 871 is on borrowed time... The only saving grace is the fact that non emissions dual cam ISX's are still produced for export, so hard parts are still in production. | |||

Weren’t no problems getting brand new parts ,but parts like oil pump and other things like air compressor is all Cummins rebuild. Also my cm870 head was cheaper at 7k, cm2250 head runs for 10k.last time I was at the shop I was told there is a shortage of cm 2350 heads.I’d say the cm871 have some more time out there on the roads. You can still get brand new Cummins sensors and fuel actuators for them. | |||
