RE: Cm2250 valve guide seals leaking (10-24-2016 )Unilevers Wrote: all you need is the spring compressor - the part numbers in my toolbox but im not near it at this moment. From Quickserve Cummins part number 4919358 for four valve spring compressor tool. The new valve guide seal part number is 4356366, here is the TSB. It has a pic of the new vs old style for reference. https://quickserve.cummins.com/qs3/pubsy...=tsb150047 4919358 Spring Compressor Tool CDN$642.69 4356366 New Style V/G Seal CDN$5.06 X 24 = 121.44 to do all 6cyl's Nilao's link above from Reliable lists tool 4919358 as US$332.99, this is less than the labor cost of the job and I have a tool in my toolbox at the end of the job. Yes I agree with overshot, replacing the collet is good advise... User's Signature: Why? Why do I always ask "why?" Because I can't learn or help teach others with "'cause I said so..."

RE: Cm2250 valve guide seals leaking I would also replace the valve collet part number 3680883. If they are not include in the kit. Better safe than sorry, no since in taking a chance of dropping a valve. I don't think they're very expensive

RE: Cm2250 valve guide seals leaking This valve collet you guys are referring to, I can get this at my normal cummins dealer? Part# 4376219 is the seal kit with all the v/g seals for all 6 cylinders correct, id rather buy that then order each seal part# 4356366 listed above Im not sweating the price of the tools, something I will need down the road and in my tool box.

RE: Cm2250 valve guide seals leaking Thanks guys, Quickserve either didn't list that for me, or I didn't look hard enough! Does said kit also include the valve spring collets? I'm also listing prices in Canadian dollars, so feel free to share US prices for comparison. If they are cheaper after exchange, I have no problems pickin up my parts when I'm south of the border! RE: Cm2250 valve guide seals leaking My dealer claims he can get the tool and the valve guide kit for $302 I won't get it till Wednesday, but that seems super cheap. He claims the orings come in the kit you guys listed as 4376219, and he says the valve collets come with it as well, I think he is wrong on this? My cummins dealer claims our t800s with these cm2250-2350 Going thru 2gallons of oil between our 350hr service interval is normal for our heavy haul application. I just dont buy that sh$t at all. Thats why im buying the tool, because we have a few trucks going thru that much oil easy, almost bent money its the valve guide seals leaking on these trucks

RE: Cm2250 valve guide seals leaking Cummins spec is 500 miles per quart or 2000 miles per gallon before they will warranty for oil consumption. That seems highly excessive to me but this is what Cummins requires.
