The egr pipe actually goes in past the compressor intake inlet and the two sensors you circled are the intake temperature and boost pressure sensors and something not to overlook is the exhaust pressure sensor mounted to the thermostat housing the little metal pipe going from it to the exhaust manifold will clog up once in awhile. There's actually a couple sites where you can also get a new intake manifold that isn't constricted if you're looking to tune it for big power.
