RE: Thoughts on these disc brake rotors at 530k Cracked brakes are a DOT violation, and I would NOT want to be the guy who knew they were cracked of one failed while going down a steep mountain and caused a big accident. The first picture would lead me to believe it is cracked too, possibly from from heat?. The "crack" does not fade with the hills and valleys of the rotor wear, being consistent with a legitimate crack in the metal, but it could just be a surface crack. Why not just get them cleaned up and turned, then inspect them closely. If the crack remains after turning it,.. it is no good.
