Dealer calls him a week later tells him his truck will be ready the next afternoon so he catches a ride only to be told by the dealer they blew up the engine on the dyno doing a break in. He is a bit upset but what the hell it's on warranty so they will have to do the inframe over that's all. The next news wasn't nearly so pleasant. They told him there was no warranty as it was an injector tip that came off that caused the engine failure and they never replaced the injectors. Take the truck in for a specific item and everything but gets changed, almost sounds like the government runs this shop.

The real kick in the teeth came a while later when his normal mechanic back home who worked for Finning told him for about $2000 less than he paid for 2 dodgy inframes he could have had a factory reman B block CAT installed ready to run.

That is the clear difference between taking your truck to someone who cares and is an actual specialist, and someone who does not. Anyone can make a mistake, anyone. ... it is what a person does AFTER the mistake that counts the most. Someone with integrity will stand behind what they do,.. someone without any will always pawn it off onto someone else.



I cannot count how many people i have met who bragged they only paid 12,000 for an inframe on their ISX, only to find out all they got was an overhaul kit ($4100) and rod/main bearings($800), and nothing more at all. $12,000 - $4900 = $7,100 in labor? -- thats more than $177/ hour. -- Really -- did they actually save money? -- NOPE!.
