It was a good price that’s why I bought it. He replaced or rebuilt motor end tranny and turbo. Truck has 1.12 rebuild was done last year. What are some things I need to look out for that are notorious for failure on this truck motor and trans...any help will be highly appreciated One thing on Volvo that is cheap and very easy to change but often overlooked is the rear suspension spring pads. They are made of plastic and live above the front end of the spring in the front mount. Below the spring will be a round roller also made of plastic. Changing them is easy. Remove the round roller then jack up the opposite corner of the rear end (if you're changing the LF jack up the RR). This will make the spring you are working on drop in the channel, get a screwdriver to pop the old pad out and slip the new pad in, drop the jack and reinstall the roller. All four should take about an hour with hand tools if things aren't too rusty. The last time I did mine I think I paid about $20 Cdn each for the pads. This is what mine look like. Different years or suspension may look different. #2 is the wear pad, #3 is where the roller will go if you have them. User's Signature: Too young to quit........Too old to change. | |||
