If they used genuine Cummins parts, can you get the shop that did your rebuild to maybe sneak the failed parts in under Cummins Parts warranty? Maybe they'll make a report or work order up that shows the failure occurred before the warranty was up. Some shops are willing to do this to help a guy out. If they used genuine Cummins every part they had has a serial number and should be recorded. I know mine has a two year Parts warranty and can be pulled apart and sent in for coverage by using the purchase receipt as date of installation. I agree, I am waiting until we get this apart to see what we are facing, I have until April 5th. My hope is that they can and will help. But, that old mandate came up, and we know how that goes, but I think there still may be some hope for some assistance. I'm still on good terms with the dealership management, and told him I will keep them in the loop as to what we find. From my conversation with the manager, I think they know that something in their procedures is not quite right. I did not want to make a scene, as none of us know what actually failed, but my gut is thinking liner. When I asked about that, it was the old whatever the book says. I have a feeling we are going to either find the liners all over the map or all even, but not at the correct height. I am just hoping for the best right now. And just to note, the $38,000 was for much more than just the in frame. Many items were replaced that are rarely on an in frame to do list, along with going through the transmission and new clutch. We shall see how they did. Finger's crossed. | |||
