Another oil pressure thread No matter what I do to this engine the oil pressure will not go do any better than 8psi at 600 rpm and 22psi at 1400 rpm period. Please don’t tell me to change the oil filter, oil, or that damn bypass valve. Been there done that.................... 280 miles on fresh rebuild 06 twim cam 500 hp isx. The short and skinny Second new head “reman” hoping that was the issue New rockers and new shafts New cams New cylinder packs New rod bearings New main bearings New oil pump New oil pump pressure regulator “also shimmed” New oil pump pick up tube New oil pump shims New O-ring for pickup tube to pump seal New updates oil bypass valve/spring Yes the piston cooler nozzles are there and in proper working order. Only thing I haven’t touched yet is the oil cooler. Cold at start up oil pressure is 45-50 psi at 600 rpm. This is measured at sensor on driver side and on main oil gally on passenger side with mechanical gauge. Once water reaches 180 and oil 220 degrees oil pressure drops to 8 psi at 600 rpm and max is 22psi at 1400 rpm. No matter where you test the oil pressure it’s 8 psi at 600 rpm. No this is not my only 15 liter 500hp twin cam isx. I have searched hi and low for any other ideas or fixes to no avail. HELP Cumins is no help here either.
