RE: Crankcase pressure honestly cats QC is shi#t these days. I wouldnt use a platinum kit if they gave it to me. I dont trust piston packs either so its a waste. -Buy a IPD overhaul kit - all new parts and better quality that cats shi#t these days -buy a new cam from cat -Buy a set of injectors from CAT/a special someone -Buy a oil pump, water pump, oil cooler and head from cat -Immediately send the cat head to the machine shop to check to see if its flat/needed planing -Rebuild your rockers ~ 35 dollars each to do it yourself and its easy -have the rods checked -Buy new headbolts from cat - i cryo treat mine -Buy new injector hold down bolts -Get block decked and cut the counterbores -Use a CAT headgasket -Buy a new spacer plate from CAT and measure it well -Get a used crank out of a junker, im not the hugest fan of recon cranks. Get it checked -buy a new wiring harness from cat for both under the cover and head to ECM -new 180 degree cat thermostats -make sure piston cooling nozzles are aligned properly (they tend to get bumped/plugged) -Get a borg warner turbo as they are cheaper and tougher. S430SX is decent -Get a 1 piece manifold so you dont have to deal with the dam joiners/seal kits -change the bushings in the front gear train. Nobody does this and they never get checked -get a new fuel pump as they get weak over long periods. change reliefs in filter base -assemble it like you care by hand -dont be silly and run some stupid c16 file or trim codes or fuel numbers in it. -fix the air intake piping so you dont dust it again. -drive truck that gets only 6mpg but sounds and looks cool and runs well. -laugh at others who half assed theirs and they are broken on the side of the road. | |||
