Looking at it again check the wiring and any connectors going to the coolant level sensor. I'm looking at the diagram again and I cut it short. They show to use the same 5VDC supply & ground. I can remember some of the older resistor style level sensors would fail internally, leak coolant back into the harness and cause all kinds of gremlins.
