...with a 1995 Peterbilt 379 with 600hp 3406e, 10 speed 3.73 gear ratio...

I run with a guy with a very similar set up. We typically fill up very close to each other when running hard. The difference...I usually put $325-340 while he puts $550-$575.

- I run 62-63mph vs. him running 70-75mph
- Aero Cascadia w/Cummins vs long nosed Pete w/Cat

Load pays the same regardless of time. Usually have 12-15hrs notice of delivery for a 150mi load, so why rush, burn fuel, and beat on the truck... to each there own I guess.

I agree VOLVO, that truck @ 70+mph is NOT getting 7+mpg. Maayyybbeee 6 flat depending on load and conditions, but it's not defying physics just cause someone claims it does lol

Unbelievable how many people do not recognize the difference when it comes to the fuel cost!!!

Similar situation with a good friend of mine that just started the same venture as what I do this year. Ya know? he has super trucker syndrome!! big power! big miles! big Pay!!!! Doing this all with a 2013 Volvo Daycab, Cummins ISX 10 speed with 3.36 ratio!

But he needed help with his IFTA reports and I was the one to help him do it...

(trying to remember exact numbers for his correctly, they are down to within few gallons and miles)

QTR 3 He had 22600 miles and 4330 gallons of fuel.

QTR 3 I had 19138 and 2874 gallons of fuel.

My truck I am running is a 2005 Volvo daycab with 10 speed 3.73 Volvo D12d motor and I drive in the 60-63 mph range while he is 70+ all day everyday.

I guess if he is happy with it so are the big oil companies like Rawze points out all the time! LOL They are too with me as I have an old azz truck that I am ready to retire here in March when the registration period ends!
