When I did mine I didn't know the fill tube came off so easily. So I had to carefully ease it out, even more fun with the power steering reservoir mounted to the frame in that location. Actually the hardest part for me was figuring out how to get the fuel line disconnected. After that the rest was a breeze. Just make sure you have a good vise to hold the head while torquing the barrels. Yes, the cost of parts and the simple labor are nothing compared to the continued existence of your engine.
