It essentially will extend the regen cycle and keep it active at low speeds for up to 10 minutes (then it times out) if it is in a regen and you slow down. I would imagine this would consume more fuel, dumping it into the exhaust to keep the system hot while it is in this state. Guess it would be a trade-off of possibly more complete regen cycle on trucks that stop/go a lot at the expense of some extra fuel ... for up to 10 minutes before cancelling the regen cycle. -- just speculation based on what I have seen of it behind the scenes in the ecm programming.
