CPL 2965
Hauling 80 - 115t

Currently torque drops off beyond 1650rpm.

Engine has covered 350,000km since last out of frame rebuild so is not far off an in-frame rebuild at which point I'd prefer to go 550/1850.

Which would be the most appropriate original Cal?

Not sure what your getting at there. Here is the power curve for program AV10094 ...

(right click and choose "view image" if you want to see a bigger version of the pic).

* It is essentially 540HP from 1500 rpm all the way to 1900 rpm. It shows a peak of 540.8 HP at 1600 rpm.

* It also shows 1887 ft-lbs torque from 1100 - 1500 rpm. (1850 @ 1100 - 1400 rpm is quite hard on the ISX though and will shorten its life if driven there under high loads very much).

Also, why would you have to rebuild an engine every 250k miles or so?. I know you mentioned Aussie road-train weights, but even still,.. this is way too often. Should be more like 650 - 800km if the engine is well cared for, driven correctly, (and programmed correctly if the egr has been switched off).

- Is this engine egr-deleted?. if so then u might want to send (e-mail) a copy of the program to me for inspection/review. See what is in there that could be shortening its lifespan by so much.

Thanks Rawze. I was looking at a ISX500 torque map. 550hp is plenty for what I do.

EGR is not deleted. All standard.

650-800km sounds about right for linehaul. The high ambient temps the engines are operating seems to shorten their life considerably.
