CEL after EGR tune up

What’s recommended to self diagnose? Computer with Win 7 or 8? I’ve seen postings about an inline 6 cable from China. And where is the insite program found?

I disconnected and reconnected the plugs. Same result.

So, I’m confused because I didn’t do a complete tune up. I didn’t remove any of the pipes. I had the sensors on hand and just wanted to quickly swap them to see if I’d see an initial change in fuel economy before removing everything. The temperature sensor is the incorrect one, so I didn’t get to change it. Only thing done was removed and replaced the differential and IMAP sensor. O-rings are in place. CEL came on before even starting the vehicle.

Later this evening, I’ll put the original sensors back in to see if any difference.

By the way, the IMAP sensor was carboned through. Completely dirty.
