First post here, so here goes nothin'. I've got a CM871 CPL 2919 in a 2009 Prostar. First sign of anything wrong was the check engine light with code SPN 639 FMI 14, but was running fine. 10 miles later it billowed smoke for a few seconds and lost power. I coasted for a little bit and the engine started acting fine again. I had 35 miles home, so I just eased on home. It smoked for a few seconds several more times before I got home and the remedy was the same. At home I again checked the codes, and after doing so SPN 641 FMI 9 came up with the stop engine light and I can't seem to find the solution. ECM power and ground is stable, all harnesses are secured away from the exhaust, wiring around the DPF looks to be in good shape and secured well. Ground power and signal voltages all seem to be correct at the Turbo actuator. Between pin 6 and pin 8 at the ECM harness connector I read 122 OHMS with the turbo actuator connected to the harness. When reading between J1939+ and J1939- at the actuator with the actuator unplugged, I read 46k OHMS. The truck is all stock IE not demandated. I can only find 1 terminator/resistor in the harness and that reads 120 OHMS. Am I thinking correctly that my actuator died? Or what am I missing?
