How bad is the damage to the pump components? Maybe post some pics. Usually when a pump goes you have to do a lot of flushing to get all the metal debris out. This type of failure is well known to destroy an engine beyond the point where it can even be rebuilt, so don't think you can just throw another pump on and head down the road.
