RE: Front Housing Cover Oil Leak Replaced the front gear cover gasket today (It's a long rectangular seal with an overlap at the top left corner). I had let the original sit for another night and noticed another drip of oil coming down the ledge above the front crank seal. Once I removed the cover, you could see where the oil had passed the seal and was working it's way through the bottom. The seal itself def felt a little hard. - Cleaned the surfaces and inspected the cover for any fractures, which there appeared to be none. Installed the new seal, put a little RTV on the overlap up top, and tightened it down. I think it was 23ft/lb that Cummins called for to secure the cover. | |||
