Liners were cut to .012in(I already know @rawze 's skin will be crawling for not being set to .014, I apologize lol.) Anyways, this engine recently started pushing coolant. Driver made it back up to us a couple hundred miles away with the cap loose, and did not lose a drop. Engine does not seem to be burning any water, the tail pipe is clean and there has not been any white smoke. The truck can be dead cold, and create 10 psi in the cooling system within 30 seconds of running. I already bypassed the compressor head. Tested for combustion in the coolant system to no avail. With that being said, am I missing something simple here? Don't want to rip the head off to find nothing...

what di you expect. garbage overhaul kit. garbage head. Likely garbage programming, garbage everything ...

garbage in = garbage out.

what a complete waste of someone's money .. all in the name of 'saving a few bucks'.

10 psi in the cooling system in 30 seconds = dancing liner, or head, or head gasket problem.

- pressurize coolant system over night with oil pan off it. Looks for coolant sneaking around a piston ring. I would also sat Look for coolant buildup in back of egr cooler, but egr cooler is not going to make 10 psi in coolant system at idle.. and definitely not that quickly.

- Copy program from ecm and e-mail to to me for a proper review of what someone did in there. Could be killing the engine for all anyone knows.

if it is the head/head gasket... then go buy all OEM components this time and start over + fix any bad programming. That or send it down the road to the next shop, who might be willing to keep butchering it into oblivion like it already has been.

These red engines are completely unforgiving if things are not done to exacting standard. HJere is what should have happened...

anything less and its nothing but a waste of moneys and repeat of history.

Lol I get where you're coming from. This is one of our company trucks. The boss didn't really care about having to rebuild it twice. This was more or so a test to see if aftermarket kits were worth a shi#t, and if we'd be confident selling them to our customers...lesson learned.
