ECM/BCM programming
When swapping one or the other ecm or bcm do you have to get them reprogrammed for them to work with one another? I had a bad ecm and bcm. Swapped em both but didn’t have the bcm replacement reprogrammed so my truck was shutting off when an abs light would come on. Well it would lose power for about 6 seconds or so and then resume. But always happening randomly. Was told bcm needed to be reprogrammed to truck. So it was, but now my Jake’s are not working however the truck runs great. I noticed the part number of the replacement is slightly different from my original. So wondering if maybe the truck it came from didn’t have Jake’s? I purchased another bcm with same model number plugged it in and my Jake’s work, however it is back to losing powers randomly when the abs light comes on. So wondering if I just need to have bcm where my Jake’s work programmed to my truck. I hope this makes sense, sorry. For now I’m just running the one that runs my truck without Jake’s. Would just like to have my Jake’s working.
