RE: ISX12 fault 0553 (03-10-2025 )swayte Wrote: thanks for the reply. just wondering if you are able to give directions for how to copy ecm file as im not very familiar with the cummins programs for doing software. Looks like you got the typical Canadanian trash-can tuning file treatment to me. Likely one of those super-duper tuning destruction shops like maybe Puke-its, Diesel$its, or pig-rig, junkSpall, or one of the other big-name crap jobs to me ... or a copy there-of. The program is beyond destructive/harmful and is nothing but absolute garbage. I feel sorry for anyone's engine that whoever did this to has touched. the crap someone shoved in there is not even meant for an ISX12 at all. It looks like a a bunch of trashed-up ISX15 settings combined with a lot of destructive, harmful, oversight, and just plain poke-and-pray ignorant crap, more than anything. == The file is out of date by several years. Many issues from cummins have been solved since then. The base software needs an update. == someone has edited the fuel flow tables to make the ecm give up more fuel than it knows about. This is very bad for several systems and eventually causes harm. == no engine operating mode control re-mapping. = Very harmful, as the engine will perpetually make extra heat and friction all the time trying to warm up the missing DPF can, eventually leading to head gasket failure. == excessive use of blocked fault codes. = Problematic. == egr gas combustion offset logic has not been switched off. = Moderately Harmful. == Aux. emissions, NOX control, Amonia control offsets are all still active. = Efficiency loss + slightly harmful. == injection timing, fuel-air-mix, and other combustion processes have all been left to factory EGR+ settings. = Very harmful, shortens engine life by as much as half once the EGR gas is taken away, especially at higher power levels. == The power and torque curve for the engine has been completely destroyed. It is set to have the engine make more than 1000HP and more than 2500+ ft.lbs. Looks like a kintergartener made this flywheel torque curve map out of a deep desire to destroy the engine as rapidly as possible to me... its like... WTF???>>>.. ![]() (right click and choose 'view image' to see a larger version) ... There are a whole lot of other issues, but those were the highlights. -- No wonder you got issues with the fuel system. It would not surprise me if the cylinder head was not cracked, or some other catastrophic permanent damage has set in now. Red engines do not like being abused this badly... very bad things happen.. and then the truck owner blames the engine for the destruction that happens later on due to someone else's complete idiotic false promises and garbage custom tuning. - This all while often, the same truck owner or shop will also brag about how 'good' their tuning guy is, .. and that they are the most popular/best guy in town. Bad delete programming .. especially out of the great white north.. is absolutely beyond a plague in the trucking industry. No one wants to admit or think that 'they' were the victim of this.. but with a rating of more than 95+% of bad vs. good programs that I review each year ... someone might as well have gambled in the lottery. Your chances of something decent and non-destructive would have been better. -- Welcome to the bad (and totally destructive) delete club!.
