That engine is indeed available like that in Australia. I have a 2019 T909 with that exact engine. Non VGT turbo, SCR only, no EGR or DPF. In fact you can still order that exact engine in a new truck here in Aus, they are currently still available until November when the new emmission laws come in. Engines supplied after this date will be SCR & DPF. Unsure if the updated engine will be fitted with a VGT turbo. The engine in my 909 is rated at 550/1850. So far it has been virtually trouble free. Some small issues with crystallised DEF but nothing much else. Uses very small amounts of DEF (around 1.5% of fuel burn), Cummins have a service letter out to change the file to increase DEF use. There is a serial number range over here that is not meeting the NOX emmision standard. My engine is included in this, however I haven't been forced to update the file so will avoid this as long as possible. Far better engine maintenance wise than the 871 it replaced.
There have been issues however with this model, but so far I have dodged the bullet.
