The optimum zinc is 1400 PPM. More starts to reverse effects & become harmful in the long term.

That stuff is purified mineral oil and 30% Zinc Alkyldithiophosphate (Zinc-dialkyl-dithiophosphate). Seems to be about $15.00 a bottle or so.

Here is how I would do it...

take oil sample about 10,000 miles after oil change without putting it in. get results and post them.

take an oil sample about 10,000 miles after the next oil change and putting it in. - see how much higher the zinc is and how close to 1400 PPM you are. get the results and post them again.
Look for zinc levels, and changed iron levels. See if the iron levels divided by miles on the oil have dropped, stayed the same, or have gone up. Iron is best wear indicator.

This type of Zinc also shortens life of catalytic converters on cars and DOC filters on trucks. If you have a DPF filter, expect it to shorten its life.

I would think the tiny amount of difference in wear it will save you would pale compared to shortened life of a DOC filter after a while. Chemicals in DOC filter are important for proper regen cycles.

No DOC filter the difference in wear vs the cost of the product and having to keep putting it in vs simply getting an oil that already has 1200 - 1400 PPM zinc in it like Delo or Shell Offroad CI-4 (instead of CJ-4) oils would just be an expense. Not worth the hassle and no gains knowing Delo-400LE is about 1200 PPM zinc already.

Call me skeptic. Maybe someone can post some accurate oil samples before and after instead of brainwashed BS by the seller and mis-leading testimonials off websites.
