calibration vs configuration files

Cal file is the calibration file or engine file for the ECM that the engine actually runs on. There are 2 types INCAL....these are the same calibration files mentioned already but in a format that insite requires to flash them into the ECM.

The other is XCAL.... these are the same file again but formatted for c a l t e r m.

You can copy the entire file out with c a l t e r m and save it to your pc(as an .xcal) and edit it however you like and then flash it back in. It's what that software was designed for, its engineering software that was never meant for consumers to get there hands on.

My confusion is how do i edit without being connected. I have the original and e c f g but im just a little confused.
