RE: Engine brake troubles need some input
The boost gets up to about 30 psi with a good load on it. I have removed valve cover and press down on the solenoids to see if there’s anything hemorrhaging oil and I cannot find anything hemorrhaging oil. These are brand new solenoids from Cummins. And in my earlier post when the oil temp gets about 220 and under high boost creating a lot of compression. It’s like one of the rockers is not holding the valve down. The problem is I can’t duplicate this with the valve cover off and everything looks OK. I don’t see any oil squirting out from between the rockers or the small Pistons. I thought maybe it would be an injector but if an injector was bad I would think I’d be having some kind of running issue as well. The truck runs strong. I’m getting pretty good fuel mileage at 6 1/2 to 7 gallons per mile. I replaced the head, the rockers camshaft, rocker shafts, solenoids, Waring harness.
I am missing something at this point. I’m just almost like well. Once it gets worse it could show its ugly head.
