Took this turbo off last year during overhaul and replaced the offending injector that wasn't atomizing properly (white smoke when snapping throttle at idle). Moving stuff around and just today noticed it too had cracked like the manifold center sections before it.. Everything has been remedied since then..

is that is a Volvo truck? - That would explain a whole lot, as volvo trucks in particular do not have adequate air flow around the engine for higher HP power levels. the CAC is also restrictive, making the turbo work harder than other brand of trucks when bigger power is used on them.
