Originally I thought it may have been a runoff as well. The seems to be slowly collecting within the securing nut and can be seen at the base of the nut when wiped after a few hours of sitting. I figured the sealing surface gets slightly deformed with every re-torque. At some point I guess it's too worn to seal like it once did. I'll just go ahead and order the parts.
