| RE: VW 3.0 TDI Maybe problem arises on engines that have vacuum pump and that will pull air from crank case. Simple test with engine running remove oil filler cap and see if there is vacuum inside or not. I have yet to see turbocharged diesel car engine that has vacuum inside crankcase with engine running. Oldschool naturally aspirated diesel engines never had any crank case filters. Same story on small gasoline engines, no filter, just a hose. Off road motorcycles also, no crank case filters. What about differentials and gear boxes? I have never seen any breather filters. | |||
