RE: Failed rebuild?
Alright well I was only asking for the acceptable tolerances for crank case pressure readings and not to be berated and called an idiot just because I had to make a financial decision out of necessity. My truck has been paid off for a year now and I do not regret leaving my company position and have done very well as an owner operator. Due to the tariffs this past year Ive had 6 months off and was unfortunately very financially stressed at the time I needed the rebuild so I took the advice of the shop that I have had a good relationship with for over 3 years. I also have seen the insane mark ups Cummins places on simple things like an oil pan and was beginning to think all their mark ups were due to name recognition and not quality. But whatever I will deal with the consequences and learn from my mistakes if I end up having a bad experience with these aftermarket parts. Now does anyone know the values for crank case pressure measured in Inches of H2O that Cummins would consider to be "in spec" under load and regen for a new engine? I would also like to know whether my high crank case pressure readings could really have been caused by my non serviceable crank case filter needing replacing? This shop is telling me that they opened a case with Cummins and that everything is "within spec" I have a good relationship with the General Manager of this shop and called his personal number as soon as I suspected an issue and he told me they will stand behind their work 100 percent. I will bring any issues up with him I just would like to know what is truly "in spec" Does Cummins have any documentation on this?
