OMG! I was just dying when I read this: "I will keep the idea of an EGR tune-up in mind." He thinks that's optional!!! He thinks there is still time...Like you said Rawze—80% of O/O's will fail or stay perpetually broke... And this is why! He was busy swapping trannies instead... I want to know which idiot told you this was a good idea. A perfect example of a person who should not, under any circumstances, own a truck before learning the business of owning one first—or at least at the minimum read your Guide to New Owner-Ops.
This is rampant now in the business. (I meet way too many) Guys with no clue what they are doing, broke, desperate, and running for nothing.
