RE: Fuel and boost questions (Yesterday )HamblinTrucking Wrote: 79609007 There are some updates available to the program your running (looks like the last update done was back in 2021?). - Just letting you know. If you copy the program out and e-mail it to me so that it has the latest data in it, then I can update it. I do not think it will make a miracle cure for your low boost though.... just slightly better settings is all. ------------------ As far as boost goes,... it should crest at about 35-36 psi or so in a hard pull. This means that if your only getting 20~ish then something is wrong with the truck somewhere as well ... == Maybe clogging up exhaust?. If take it on a test drive ... then you pull the exhaust piping away from the first can under the truck (or behind the turbo) and then a second test drive to compare, ... boost should be the same. If not then something in your exhaust is restrictive. I have seen this plenty over the years. == Maybe CAC system is leaking somewhere. Test the CAC etc. for boost leaks, and pressurize the whole engine if possible. You should not loose more than 10 psi pressure in one minute with everything plugged off. == Maybe restrictive CAC unit (aftermarket CAC units are notorious for this). There should be less than 1.5~ish or so psi difference in the CAC at full operating loads between the turbo side and the engine side. Also, What is the turbo RPM when climbing a hill and at max boost?. What IS that max boost values getting to when pulling a long hill at max throttle?. == Also replace the IMAP sensor if it is more then 2 years old. Use genuine OEM only. == Check exhaust pressure sensor circuit. unscrew it from its mounting hole, plug it back in to harness, and spray the hole it mounts to with carb cleaner good. Make sure solvent is not pooling up. - Then crank engine to ensure exhaust gas is coming back thru the hole at a decent pace. == Check your block plates. One between cyl#1 manifold and EGR cooler, .. and the other at the intake of engine. Make sure they are in good shape and not leaking. == Check to ensure that the plug in the bottom of the head is installed on the drivers side: I show where that is at in this video @ 1:53 ... https://youtu.be/KN334mWsupM and then this stuffs mentioned here: https://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?...1#pid82371 User's Signature: ->: What I post is just my own thoughts and Opinions! --- I AM Full Of S__T!. | |||
