What a great idea. What size btu are you modifying?
12k btu. I cut the condenser off and am mounting it behind the cab with a 12v cooling fan powered off a 120 >12v transformer. Just gotta find time to get the copper tubing ran and service valves sweated in. Had planned on flare fitting but the od is a hair bigger than 1/4. Bought a champion 3100 electric-remote start to run it and keep the batteries warm. Gonna install that in the nose of the hopper to cut down on noise.

I have the same generator. I absolutely love it. I cut off the terminal ends to the generator and used a 50 amp ./uploads/201707/post_2290_1499208264_4f247406f177718d3ed79167221033d1.jpg connector to use the truck batteries instead of using the small 20 amp hour one that came with the generator.
