RE: Another oil pressure thread It’s a million mile motor and bought it with fresh overhaul. Trying to find out all the possibilities here. Cummins dealer did the inframe and said that when the motor was opened up that it was all good and didn’t need it but since it was already open at that point it only made since to put it back together with all new parts. Certified cumins repair shop/dealer All parts are Cummins parts from Cummins through Cummins dealer. I suspect it had this issue before and was cause for the tear down and rebuild. Head and all parts in head eliminated. Rods and mains have been eliminated Old oil pump and new oil pump same pressure Regulator shimmed and same pressure before and after. Pick up tube and o-ring replaced and good Old pressure regulator and new regulator same pressure All nozzles intact and appears to be good Oil filter bypass changed and would agree improper install if pressure was higher in main galley. I wasn’t there for the oilpump install so can’t personaly say the shims are in right. The head is still getting a lot of oil which was my biggest concern. I have no idea if the internals was magnafluxed at rebuild or not. We are changing oil cooler and related parts to see if that fixes it. As the cumins book says that’s the first place that can cause this condition. Is there a galley plug up in the head that’s removed at overhaul that may have been overlooked and not put back in? Thanks for the recommends on other places to look. I was wondering about the air compressor and gears. User's Signature: Have you checked your muffler bearings today? | |||
