RE: Cm2350 reliability
Lmao. I bought a 15 model pornstar end of last year. It had about 30k since a partial inframe (pinston rings, liners, and a head) due to a carbon packing issue with the earlier 2350 engines and as a result polishing the liners. Well week b4 last my oil psi took a nose dive and had some valve chatter with the jakes on. At first the oil psi was somewhat ok just lower than normal then it went to 20psi at 1500 rpm. Took to dealer when I'll got home and they told me to chage the filter. I did that my needle pegged out at 120psi but dropped to nothing after it warmed up. Back to the dealer after a chat with the svc mgr. Well after several hrs of diagnostics, they dropped oil pan, pulled main and rod caps. The bearings were chewed all to hell. Off comes the fuel pump... its come apart right on schedule at 420k miles. So an engine with less than half a mil on it has been half arse inframed and now replaced. Imo they can be a good engine but id lower the compression, drop the liner height to what rawze suggests (.014?) And have it demandate tuned by one of the guys here (i think uni has done those compression changes.) Just my opinion on the matter. U could also stick with an 871, have it tuned real nice and roll on to a million miles b4 screwin with it.
